Default Why do Thermostats only go up to 92C?

Why is it thermostats only go up to 92C, when i bought my Beardie 3 years ago she came with a normal habistat with one and the guy told me to set it at 92C, she has always been fine and is happy but im wondering why thermostats only go up to 92C when the basking temp is supposed to be 110C?????

I have always wandered this myself, you can change it by just moving the stat probe away from the hotspot slightly untill you get the steady tempeture you want.

the probe on the thermostat should be near the "cool" end and temperature set to 85. that should give you the basking temp needed aswell as keeping the cool end, not too cool.
basking end should be 110-115 and the cool end 85ish.
does that make sense?

yes that makes total sense, im not sure if setting the cool end to 85 would make the hot end 110 but i will try it tommorow and see what happens, on another note do you think the change could stress her out or anything, im just thinking that if she's happy and really healthy (vet said so bout 2months ago) then could the change do anything for her that is detrimental, fair enough alot of you will say if anything the change will make her better but im not sure as she has been used to the way it has been for nearly 3 yrs now, thanks

If you set a thermostat to 92 degrees and put the probe at the opposite end to a ceramic bulb the the bulb will reach temps much higher than 92 degrees therefore providing the basking temp that is desired by the OP and problem solved.
Are you being a bit fick Meko

i wasn't being fick m'lady.. just sounded like you were saying it doesn't matter how high the thermostat goes to as a ceramic bulb can get fricken hot.... hotter than the sun y'know.
