Hello everyone,
I am currently in the process of building a viv for my BRB. Its going to be a fully planted viv, obviously with pretty high humidity. For this reason I decided to go with a reptile radiator as I have heard that they are good with humidity, and I have read posts praising their use with GTP's. However, seems that it now sounds as if I'm not going to get the gradient across the length of the viv, and a suitable hot temp at one end. So..... I'm thinking of fixing the radiator somewhere in the middle towards 'cool' end of viv in order to create the ambient/'cool' end temperature. With my reluctance to use a ceramic in such a wet environment I came across these to heat the soil at the 'hot' end. Has anyone used anything like this? sounds like it'll work in a similar way to heat mat/cable, but it can get wet and be placed in the soil which will be lining the floor of the viv. Any advice welcomed. Thanks, Chris |
