Default Fake background can you use spray paint?

Such as Plasti-Kote

Been reading on the website they saw their fast dry enamels are quick drying and non toxic to pets of children

Can we not just make a fake rock / background, then spray it with Plasti-Kote, even if it means sealing it after, surely its better than messing with acrylics and all?

if you seal it, then they are fine to use. they probably arent toxic unsealed, but id rather not risk it personally, plus the paint would be prone to humidity/moisture. sealing is fairly easy so its worth doing anyway i reckon.

they also make some textured spray paints, like stone effect one. personally i find brushed acrylic much easier to control. unless youre skilled with a spray can its tough to paint detail, although easier to cover bulk areas quickly (e.g. base coats).

you can actually buy spray guns fairly cheaply that are capable of spraying watered down acrylic!! e.g. http://www.screwfix.com/prods/13389/...Spray-Gun-240V

What do you suggest sealing with

I want it for my crestie / chameleon so I would need high huidity resistance but don't want to use yachy varnish

Ive heard of people using PVA but it seems to be that would just melt away under heat and damp conditions? Am I wrong?
