Looking good. Maybe just round off the edges a tiny bit?

I'd really like to make stuff with polystyrene but what do you use to cut/shape it? And how do you know which paints and varnishes will be safe?

You can go to tesco and get some decent paint for £2.20 a tube, if I were you I would break up all those straight edges as it would make it look better, and when you are painting the rocks don't use too small a brush.
Try start with a dark colour then do a heavy drybrush with a lighter colour then an light drybrush with an even light er colour, drybrushing is when you remove most of the paint from the brush till there is very little left to do it you will need a bit of paper towel to get most of the paint off, it is a lot easier showing someone how to do it rather than telling them lol.
