Default Cresties and heating with a bulb

Hey, i am thinking about turning my clear seal on its side when my crestie gets to adult size. This would mean however having my red bulb inside the viv. Will this be ok if the bulb is properly protected so the gecko does not jump on it??
Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Thankyou

Tommy

Hi mate,

You can use a normal spot light on the outside shining in, connect it to a stat as normal.

However, the uv lights are another matter

You mean shine it at the glass? There will be no vent on the top u see, and if i shine the light against the metal mesh which will be on the front, it will burn the crestie when he walks on it. If i have the bulb inside the tank, through the whole provided and cover it with the grate like protectors you can buy, will this be fine? Or can i shine the light at the glass and let the heat go through?
