Default cant get airvent off tank.

hello i got given a tank its all great but it has an air vent few inches up, and i wanted this tank for my newts so cant fill it that deep

i cant get this air vent off at all! any ideas??

probably been siliconed in... very sharp knife, either try and run it around the edge to cut the silicone or cut all the centre of the vent out and then carve the outer edge of the vent out till you're down to the glass.

if its held in with some sort of glue wd40 can break down some adhesives

hi there is no glue what i can see.... i can turn it round and there is a MM or so u can more it side to side.

warm it up with a hair dryer til the plastic goes soft then prize it out

i'd do a combo of both

cut the middle out, and then heat it up and
squeeze it together to get it out

i had a perfecto tank with the same thing.. i used plyers to break the middle out and then kind of snipper away at the edge carefully!! easy to slip so be very very careful!!

you could also try a fine saw blade to cut through the plastic then bend it over itself and slip it out.
