I keep debating getting some more vinegaroons...the two I had were a particularly dull example I believe...the US species seem way more active.

I got him 2 from T barn at Kempton and 1 lost its whip and died shortly after and the other moulted several times and then just died recently. They were awesome little critters so will definately get him some more.

A good, informative sheet!

When it comes to slings, I use the following setup:

I have a heat mat on the long wall (on the top of the picture) to keep them warm. The sand isn't just for aesthetics either... It's filled up to be the same depth as the substrate in the vials. This means when the slings burrow (even against the side) it remains dark. Also, the sand reflects heat, so the underground sections of the vial are kept cool whilst the top part gets both the direct heat and reflected heat, keeping it warmer.

Seems to work really well, but not a good idea if you've got eleventy millions slings!
Also, I guess someone will have stated, but never put them on top of a heat mat :P

I tend to keep my rearing box simple and use and RUB like in the care sheet. It works and tends to be a lot cheaper than the pretty sand method lols.
