Default Grammastola Vachoni

thought id make a caresheet on this very rare species

i keep mine at :
  • 60-70 humidity level
  • 75-80 degrees
  • i water once every 2 weeks (but water heavily when i do)
they dont usually eat much and they are similar to g.porteri/rosea with eating habits, they take around 5 years to get to 2" ( from what ive heard ). An adult will have a green sheen to it and in different light it will go a dark blue colour

thats all i do to maintain mine,

havent seen anyone else with any of these nor are there any caresheets on google, so i thought that this would help

hope this helped

george

Cool Although I keep mine to as close to natural habitat conditions as I can.

Temps - 86-88 daytime with substantial drop in nightime temps.

humidity - Dry as possible with only a very light spray weekly for drinking moisture.

They love to shift substrate so given enough will excavate heartily.

They are eating on a weekly basis and seem to be rather ravenous at that. Fed on Bean Weevils/crickets/mealworms.

They seem to be typical of most Grammostola's from the area in growth rate.....slow.

In the months since the BTS show (Feb), they have moulted once. Slow growth.

I've seen some photos of adults - some are quite greenish, yet others appear brown/grey. I wonder if it is only the males that have the slate green appearance?

What does the moulting have to do with the sex?

As slings the males and females all tend to moult around the same rate. That starts to change slightly as they get to juvenile size where the male's can and do moult at a faster rate than females.
