Nah at somepoint the price will start to drop as these become more common, and captive breedings are more frequent. I never had the internet when the GBB first popped up, i was just a guy who hopped his local pet store would get something special in :P

But i bet when GBB's first popped up they were a bit pricey.....

Well the tarantula hobby is new compared to most, once alot of people get intrested in it i expect the hobby to explode, its come quite far in so few years as it is. Tarantulas are pretty cheap as is compared to other pets types. Could be great for hobbyists if more species are available but its a pretty bad thing for those species in the wild.

Just bought one of these slings for £35 at SEAS....is there any new knowledge of this species anyone can share with me?

Nothing new really. Just keep bone dry, spray once a week and get used to looking at 2 legs poking out of it's burrow

Blondi, T. stirmi, Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens, Cobalt blue, OBT, cyriocosmus elegans,and many more, beardie, 2x leo, chameleon, poison arrow frogs
+ 2 boxer bitches. Not a charleton or arguementative in anyway

Are they all related? Heard mixed reports on M balfouri communes. Sac mates will commune but unrelated slings won't.

One major requirement for owning a balfouri/s is to make loads of thread about them with loads of pictures!

How often do people upload pictures of balfouri's? NEVER!

It's telling me that this species (as well as many other old world burrowers) are frowned upon.
