Red face

jack it looks like your spider was moulting might've been nothing to do with the cold.

I must admit i did trade/send some spiders to kenny but we thought it would be ok during the monday/tuesday night fortunately our spiders have survived but i WILL NOT be sending out any more spiders until its considerably ABOVE FREEZING.

I believe it was more the fact that the delivery of the spider was delayed by an extra day due to the weather. The spider may have lived it was delivered in a timely manner.

Fortunatly mine survived the post well just about, I purchased a red knee juvi was posted to me monday & arrived tuesday before the snow arrived, but was stressed through the journey, pic on forum had a lovely furry rump but it had obviously been stressed as his rump was bald when it got here. Heat pad was very cold. So no heat pad is going to be able to compete with this bad weather. If you want them alive then pay a deposit & when weather gets better, pay the remainder, hopefully seller will understand. So do take heed of the advice.

Not a nice time to send anyone or thing through post in this weather.

Agreed!

I have an AF L.parahybana & an AF T.blondi waiting to be posted to me. I know it's frustrating when you've paid for a spider and want it ASAP but in this weather it's simply better to wait...and for the animals welfare I don't mind waiting!

Thats true. But as said, 24 delay stuck in sorting office. Would be hard to argue the prolonged exposure to cold wasn't a contributing factor.

to my mind anyone posting in this weather is asking for trouble and probably running on the impatient juice. It just doesnt warrant the risk, leave it for a week or so.
