ive looked before and not found many best bet is to do a search on the forum search and see who keeps them and pm them and i sure they will give you advice just be prepared for a monitor which maywell reach upto 8ft in length and chances are it wont ever tame

yeah cool just a bosc and nile are very very different i mean a bosc will tame and i mean even a evil bosc is nothing compared to a nile tbh but good luck getting one and you best post pics as they r my fave species of lizard lol

Default ornate nile monitor

We too scoured internet for care sheets and info before we got ours so we knew what we were lettin ourselves in for , this is a must with any living creature , can get em but are contradictory , we brought one from a very good reptile centre in cambrigeshire and they gave us a lot of info , we found patience and not pressure the best policy with our young un handling it in short and sweet times and rewarding after handling either with food or a bath lol and it seems to be catchin on we have now had it for bout 2 weeks and isnt lashing out with tail and not trying to bite as its learning slowly but surely we are not predators which as babies they will see us as but as tolerable human beings , we were told as well as read these reptiles learn to tolerate us and not to assume they are tame . a happy and confident owner makes for a happy and contented animal of any species

if your getting it from a wholesaler make sure its correct species, soooooo many shops incorectly label normals as ornates and vica versa because thats what the wholesaler said it was.
ornates have around 5 bars of spots from neck to tail base
normals around 7 rows
ornates more stocky and normals are more "pointy"

tongue colour is different as well but cant remember which is which, i know one is pink and one is dark purple.
IME ornates are easier to tame but hurt more when they bite...............

they will bite.
