Default UroWiki - need help with collective uromastyx resource

Hi, I'm going to tell you a short story and then ask for your help. Hopefully you'll be enthusiastic and willing to assist!

I am a relatively new uromastyx owner but in the time I've had mine, it's been extremely hard to find accurate information. There are literally dozens of caresheets around, half of which contradict the other half, and some of which are just plain wrong. I've tried various forums, but in between more clashing information and in-fighting amongst users, it's not always been successful. I have noticed, however, that long-experienced uromastyx keepers are able to agree on, and give, good advice.

It is for this reason that I have started to compile the UroWiki, a community-edited and up-to-date resource for uromastyx owners to refer to without fear of outdated, contradictory or incorrect information. Only the things we can agree on, at least to a general extent, will be included. There is a small selection of complete and semi-complete pages and I'm hoping that before 2009 is over, there will be a lot more - but I need help. I'm hoping that other well-meaning uromastyx owners can offer their own experience in helping - not just for other new owners, but for the sake of their uromastyx.

You can see the pages currently on the UroWiki at All pages - UroWiki and you're free to sign up to help - with the caveat that I'm giving editing rights manually at this stage, so you won't be able to edit straight away. If you're enthusiastic and willing to help, please let me know, either through my contact page on the wiki (once you've signed up) or on this thread!

Thanks, and here's hoping for lots of knowledgeable volunteers...

I'm happy to help as a Uro owner. To spread knowledge of these amazing creatures.

Just wondering where do you find best to get Endives, I struggle to find it just on its own

You don't even have to sign up to help with the wiki - you can write articles and post them here, or even send them to me directly. As for where to find endive, it varies - at least in my local shops, it's utterly random if you'll find one, and when, and for how long it'll be available. It's bloody annoying.

A quick update; we have some good, solid basic info now, as well as some advanced stuff on breeding. It's a hassle, I know, signing up for yet another forum/wiki, but this is edited by you guys, and it's for you guys. If you're not comfortable editing the wiki directly, you can always give us a shout in the forums there and we'll happily add your articles or info and give you a mention in the "thank you" page. Not trying to advertise or steal users, just to help other avoid the probelms I've faced.
