Not really. I think it can cause problems if ingested. Also, it will hold bacteria easily and smell when they poop

Some good points raised there, my sister uses calcium sand and shes had her gekos for 2 years now. No problems that i can think of only shedding, the female geko has lost some of her toes due to the bad shed, if we had known sooner that you can remove it with some luke warm water we would of helped her out, thanks for sharing that We will know for future as for keeping 2 Gekos together, we have no problems we got the Male geko first then about a month later we introduced a female to him. There has been no fighting, they sleep with each other in their hide and like to mate

Thanks for this mate. I'll be getting a Leo in a about 2 weeks
reading this has made me a little more prepared for it.
i haven't seen a sheet on breeding yet tho

Before i got my leo i read SleepyD's website which is very good and everything on their is what i went by and mine has been doing great with shedding eating and pooping.
