Default Chameleon Housing Setup

Help! I'm looking at getting a Veiled/Yemen Chameleon. However I've read an awful lot on the types of housing they need. Does anyone have advice the best type of Vivarium to use and the set-up. i.e Glass or wood. What I have see shows +/- for both. Any advice appreciated

Much of your descision for vivarium will be based on the room you plan on placing the viv in, a mesh viv is all well and good, but if you place it in a cool room it will stuggle badly to keep the temperature needed to maintain a healthy cham...

where will you be keeping him/her?

Default Chameleon Housing Setup

Hi

The Chameleon will be housed in our Lounge. Temp doesn't drop below 20 at night and average around 23 during the day.
I've found these Zoo Med Repti Breeze sturdy metal mesh cages that can have heat lights and UVs on top. I'm leaning towards these as it will give good ventilation. The humidity of the room is about 63-65%.
Any thoughts.

Thanks.

that sounds good mate just make sure that the chameleon can get a decent heat gradient in the tank. I've got a mesh tank for my male veiled and he loves it. Their quite hardy so as long as the room is kept warm it'll be fine

Default Basking Temps

I think I'll be getting a baby. Would like to experience the whole thing. How about misting etc...how long for etc...

Food is already in place - Crickets at the ready due to having Beardie's and Gecko's.

Have I missed anything else that is obvious?
