Unhappy Egyptian Uromastyx Lizard Losing Weight Rapidly?

We have a pair (male/female) Egyptian Uromastyx Lizards that are rapidly losing weight and starting to look unwell. We have had the lizards for 10 months. They have always been active, good feeders and regular with their waste.
They now have no appetite and have not been toilet for days.
The UV light is now 10 months old (I believe it should be changed every 12 months?), the temperature of the viv is monitored and maintained 40degc and the lizards have a basking area - to summaries, I believe the environment is interesting, well maintained, warm and clean.
We sort advice when we purchased the lizards and it was recommended we used a combination of large bark type chippings and a calcium substrate. We monitored the lizards in the first weeks to ensure they did not show any interest in eating either substrate. - HOWEVER I am now reading that it is NOT recommended to use the calcium substrate as this can cause intestinal impacting?

We were also told that both lizards had been wormed and that this only needed doing the once in their lifetime?

Anybody any ideas......anything we can do

Kind Regards....

were they captive bred or wild caught when you bought them?

are they still kept on chippings?

weight loss can be a sign of several things,id go to the vet and get them checked for parasites and also ask for an xray to rule out any impaction caused by the wood chips.

Herp vet is a good start, get them checked up and if possible a faecal sample or the vet can give you something that will make them excrete a sample.
