i haven't heard of it before but ive bread them and fed them to a family of marmosets at work so cannot see why not. I guess it would just be an ethical issue to some.

i almost got a bearded dragon but decided not to at the last minute and got a leopard gecko instead, in some ways i wish i could get a berdie cos ive been in to the shops and seen them and they stand at the glass and look at you all funny that just makes me laugh.

a few things that turned me off them was

i heard they live from 6 to 10 years max and i thought the fact they need a 4ft viv and only lasy about 8 years or so was kinda to much.
and also the fact they run about all night in the vivarium making such a racket when its in my bedroom lol, i could not keep reptiles anywhere else cos i have 2 cats

but.... having said that i like pets that come out like berdies do, unfortunatley i have a leo and and a corn snake and they both rarley come out but at night in the early ours when im not around.

Brilliant lots of information, Im getting my son a beardie for his 8th birthday.
The viv is set up just a couple of questions-
The rocks and branches do they have to be brought from a shop or can you use normal stones/logs etc & do they have to be sterilised in any way?
also does the heat lamp have to have a guard im assuming it does as it gets very hot?
Thanks
