My one concern is that i work shifts and do 12 hour day/nights. Would this be a problem when it comes to feeding?

Adam
Sorry, I completely forgot to check the replies to this until now... if it's still any use you should be able to set it up so that there is some overlap with the shifts - it might be that you feed him early morning one day and quite late the next. As long as his lights have been on for at least and hour, and will be on for another couple of hours he should be fine. Insects in the wild don't follow set patterns, so the only real problem would be making sure he has enough time to start digesting them.

I use digital thermometers such as this one:

Thermometers4U Online Shop - product details

They have a "maximum / minimum" function, which will tell you the hottest and coldest it's been since the last time you reset it. If you reset it just before you go to bed and leave it in overnight, the "minimum" temperature recorded is the coldest that the cage or room dropped down to during the night. Things are usually colder in winter than they are in summer, so it's best to take several different readings, at different times of the year.

You shouldn't really need a heat mat for beardies - they need an overhead bulb on during the day to provide heat (along with their UV) but at night they don't need any kind of heat unless the room temperature is falling below 65f or so...

I really doubt that you'll get away with it - it's extremely rare for males (even brothers who've grown up together) to tolerate each other as adults.

Even if they did tolerate each other, you'd be putting them at risk of fighting (possibly with serious consequences) if something did change or set them off.
