Default heating my viv

hi there all, i have got a new 4ft viv and im having trouble getting it up to temp, iv got a 36" uv bulb and a heater mat going, the tank is only 19" high and im afraid if i put a basking lamp in there it will be to close to the beardie and it will get burnt, i will be pickinghim up on sunday so need to sort something fast.

please help me!!!!
