Managed to twist Karl from Lost World in Teynham to part with one of his pairs of Red Ackies.
Let me know what you think about them and my setup below. The female looks gravid and has built a deep tunnel under the bark. Unfortunately my camera skills are crap and the photos don't show how really red they both are or the bright yellow on the males shoulders. Hi There,
They are being housed in a 4x2x2 viv, the substrate is a mixture of 45% Sterilised Top Soil, 45% play sand and 10% vermiculite and is about 7" thick at the back of the viv and 4" at the front. The spot bulb is 100W which keeps the basking spot at 130F or just above and there is a 150W ceramic to keep the nightime temps at around 85F. I am dead lucky to have got this pair and hopefully she will lay in the future. Thanks again for your comments. Pete |
