Default My Young Crestie

After letting little ping calm down, I have finally started to handle him/her and got this picture yesterday. The owner said its around 4 months old... just wanted to see if its around a good size etc.

Also knowing what kind of crestie would be nice

Aw big eyes!

Looks like a plain morph, possibly may change over time into a tiger looking at the faint markings, but even at 6-10 months, they can change. That's the exciting part.

Not sure about size, at about 4 months, mine are usually around the 4-6g mark, but each crestie is individual

Crested Geckos - Have we gone too far? - Not knowing who we are breeding to who?

Deformation in Hatchling Lizards - A debate that's worth a read

Why breed an unhealthy animal? - Get the idea yet?

DO YOUR READING BEFORE YOU START BREEDING!

GlasgowGecko: IF you breed two animals and the resulting offspring exhibit reduced fitness, you MUST purge the system (this does not mean termination, but they should NEVER be bred). This is the only way to get passed it.

Is it really so hard to do some reading, use some common sense and ask a few questions BEFORE you buy the animal?

I've not been able to weigh yet. Ping doesn't like to sit down for too long lol

She does have a lovely white strip running down her tail though. I say she - at 4 Months i can't really tell if it is a she can I!

Cute Crestie. I see from your sig that Ping is your first Crestie? Be careful because it is easy to become addicted to them!

Aw, well once you have her eating a pooing fine, it's a good idea to gently put her in a cricket tub , then weigh that, then after she is back, weight the tub and take the difference, although, most scales are +/- 2g, so I bought some jewellers scales off ebay for £7 posted and they are accurate to 0.1g lol!

TBH at 4 months, some are still only 2-3g. And as for she, be careful. I been referring to Nemesis as a him, and it's given him a complex and he is indeed male now!

Some people say they can sex as early as 5 months with a jewellers loupe, but I firmly believe they can still change to a male as old as 10-12 months

Anyway, so long as she is eating and pooing, active and feisty, I would not worry at all.

And most of them have a white/cream/grey marking of some sort on their tail. x

I know how addictive they are - I already want another one - OH wants me to wait to get used to this one and let it grow a little bit before introducing more to him/her
