Default A few pics from Beaver Water World.

I was first told about Beaver Water World when I was buying my little Hognose. Got chatting about some of his display reps and he mentioned that he picked up his male and female Iggy from this place.

Its run as a rehoming and rescue centre in Kent.

^What is this?

There set ups were quite good and very clean, sized not too bad for the amount of reps and type there. Loads of other display's with countless other iggies and another WT and Salvator but the lack of zoom and flash on the iPhone put an end to any more pics.

Still snow and ice around so no Beaver action as all tucked up in the warmth.

Have to say that I am not enjoying their set ups. Especially the one where there is a mix of a Green iguana, a Basilisk, and a Bearded Dragon, I 100% disagree with mixing species in a cage, especially this mix, I do not know how they thought this would be functional, each of these have very diverse care, bearded dragons are dessert animals, they need to have very low humidity and more heat along with a different diet. Iguanas need a humidity level of 80% in the cage, this can cause respratory problems for the Bearded dragon. And basilisks need to have a diet of almost all rodent and insects, very occasionally eating plants.

Same with the Uromastyx/bearded dragon cage, they have very different needs.

I believe the people who run this place need to read the sticky in the lizard section on mixing species.

The cages are very dysfunctional.

There were plenty of signs up stating the same but the various rationales for it and always welcomed feedback if concerned about the animals.

Im not stating whether its right, wrong or indifferent. Everyone has their own views and opinions on the matter. I have seen more squalid, cramped and insuitable conditions in more than several reptile shops.

I find with animals with similar conditions it is not as bad as the iguana/basilisk/bearded dragon cage, I would highly suggest that you suggest they seperate the mixed cages. I find the cages look to all be clean and well kept but they need to put all the animals in their own proper conditions.
