Default Hi - Advice Required

Hi - I've just joined as I'm looking into getting a bearded dragon. I have the viv set up and the lights, thermostat, etc but I am at a loss as to what to put on the bottom of it. I am hoping to get a young bearded dragon and have read/heard that you shouldn't use sand. So any advice from the experts???

Many Thanks
Zoe

to RFUK!

Tiled, kitchen towle, reptile carpet - all good to use. Have a look on some pictures in the habitat section and decide what you like!

Kitchen towel if under six months - can go on sand after that (if accurate catching food!) or you can use tiles or vinyl, whichever you prefer.

I use kitchen roll for very small babies in small cages, because it will need changing daily. Once thay are around 6 months old they move into larger cages / have the partitions removed, and they go onto wallpaper backing paper (about £4.50 for 50m from B&Q). When they are a year or so old I move them onto sand if I feel that they are capable of catching food without swallowing mouthfuls of sand at the same time.
