Default URGENT: Shes not moving or opening eyes (yemen Cham)

Hey

As most know we recently rescues two female yemen Chameleons.

The small one Lilly is acting odd. Tonight she has crawled off a branch to the back, ignoring all food and crickets. She has shut her eyes and appears asleep about an hour before the light is due off. When we touch her she doesn't move or open her eyes shes not dead but she certainly isn't lively.

She still isn't eating enough but we've seen her drink.

When you pick her up she just keeps her eyes shut all the time, doesn't move..what the hell do we do?

How can we get her to eat? Tomorrow we are going to buy wax worms to tempt her, but how many crickets do you think she should be eating in a day? She 4-6 months old.
How would you feed the crickets?
Could she just be tired??

She was a little like this last night too but I thought she might just be tired.

You rescued it right? You did pay for it? It's possible that the person who turned it in might have known what was happening or he did want to face charges of animal abuse or something but go to a vet pronto. I think it could be either a problem where is it traumatized because of the move.

She ate about 4 cric's yesterday and we watched her drink, she's very keen to hunt but then goes limp. She's in with the other rescue at the moment as her new viv isn't due to arrive untill 2 days time

She just goes totally to sleep.

There have been about 5 poops in the viv since we got them.

How many cric's should she be eating?

Yeah we rescued them from a shop that didn't really want them and couldn't keep them. I'm reporting them as there condition is rediculous. He said he would never get them in again as they are too much hassle

Oh maybe i worry too much but you can't help it can you. Her light is off now, she is covered up. Just hope tomorrow we get a better look x

I think you have to make sure she drinks, so she is not dehydrated atm. Are her eyes sinking in at all? It does not matter if she does not eat but you have to make sure she is hydrated.

Hi can you post a pic of her body and eyes at all please?

Usually closing the eyes is a sign of dehydration and weakness.

Does she open them at all if so how long for?

Would something like repti boost or hydro life be any use to a Cham in this condition, I know it helps other lizards.

yes it will especially if she is dehydrated BUT only small amounts and even a soak in some too BUT again she really needs to be diagnosed.
