Default Chameleon Holiday Care

Hello People,

I am currently in the process of setting up for a 6 month old Veiled. I was wondering what everyone's opinion is on weekend breaks. If you as a cham keeper were to go away from say friday morning until sunday morning (2 nights). Would it be acceptable for there to be a slightly bigger feed friday morning to keep him going? Or is there other techniques?

Many thanks people.

Ben

Hi Knighty,

Yeh of course the spraying can be got around pretty simply with an auto-sprayer thingymabob. Unfortunately we have no family within 150 miles and no trust worth neighbours!

an auto mister would be good, unless there was a power outage or it broke down. you could always put some loose crix/hoppers in just before you leave so he has some left to hunt...

i personaly wouldnt leave any of my reps while i went away, as there are more problems to worry about other than just feeding and watering, there could be health issues or part of the life support system (lights, heater, mister) could break down. im lucky most of my family are within a 20 mile radius, and i also have a few trustworthy friends that have reps.

as said above most pet stores do a holiday center but for a few days would probably be more stress for the cham than its worth.

theese things should be thought through before reps are purchased.

I too wouldn't leave them on their own...would be too much worry that something would go wrong. What if the stat broke or they got out and fell out of a window? (say that as i almost had one do that!!)
