Default new viv!!! image heavy....

hey all. as some of you know i have been busy getting my new cwd viv made and all kitted out. the actual building of it only took my hubby an hour and ten minutes. but it has been a nightmare getting everything done on the inside, such a big space i didnt know where to start. I have put a huge plastic trough in the bottom and sealed it in to stop water sitting at the bottom, and also so i can plant loads of plants and have natural soiled areas. there is a big tray in the bottom for bathing and it covers half the floor space. there is lots of different areas for basking and sleeping and some plastic plants to stop the damn crix eating them all.

this is whent he build was finnished, we alos put heavy duty catsors on so we can move it really easy.

well as the sealant and varnish was only done yesterday i need to leave the lights and heater on for a few days to make sure the fumes have all gone. It smells pretty intoxicating at the moment!! will update with new pics of the cwds in there new home in the week. I am chuffed to bits with the result, and it didnt cost that much really i worked it out as
  • wood £70
  • sealant, poly foam, varnish, screws, £25
  • plants, decoration, soil £20
  • electrics and perspex for the doors £30
An arboreal viv on ebay is £120 and its smaller, not sealed and not watertight. but mine is rock solid, on heavy duty wheels, and weighs a ton. it measures 5 ft high, 3ft wide and 2 1/2ft deep. It was supposed to go upstairs in the reptile room but its too pretty to be locked up there!
