Default BTS Basking?!

Okay had the little BTS for a little while now, hes almost a month old and i've never seen him bask once. hes eating alright, and drinking fine but he's never sat on top of his log and basked. I noticed this morning that he had some undigested mealies in his poo. Any tips on getting him to go bask? All temps are perfect and humidity is around 25%. Basking spot is also the highest spot in the viv.

He divides his time between filling his face, chilling out in his hides and crapping everywhere with the occasional drink. Never basking

How high is the basking spot, and whats underneath it? BTS arent especially good climbers as you can imagine, so if its anything too complex under the basking spot they may not bother to climb it. We have several pieces of cork bark piled up under the light - they sleep under this as well as lie on top of it basking. Id recommend something similar, perhaps a slab or piece of slate that will hold heat too.

The basking spot is roughly 6" off the ground and is clearly the highest point in the tank. Its a fairly wide piece of cork bark. hes never really 'out' though. Spends almost all his time in his hides. Comes out to eat, drink, crap and i we get him out to handle him and give him baths (hes started shedding again).

Basicly what Johelian said, get him a nice flat basking rock and put it over one side of the basking area so he has a choice of sitting on the rock or on the substrate. When they bask they like to lay down flat and puff out, he might not feel safe doing that on top of a log.

Go down to your local garden center and they should have loads of different shapes and types of rocks for people to use as paving slabs and things. A rock will also help keep your skinks nails down so you won't have to cut them as often, which is always a bonus!

How bright is the cage? What are you using for lighting? Is there the possibility that perhaps youre missing his basking time? The babies always emerge when the lights are on, bask for half an hour or so and then wander off again; they dont spend a lot of the day sat on the basking spot.

Ah, the viv is very well lit. I just stacked some more cork up and put a flat piece of rock on top under the light. Hopefully he takes to it

I wouldn't worry about it, the little ones tend to hide a lot for a month or so. Jaf Jaf basks occasionally but generally in the morning when lights have just come on and mid afternoon. I do suggest using a smooth, flat rock instead of bark though, he never basked on his cork bark- it doesn't hold heat well enough to warm them from below anyway.
In reference to climbing, the basking spot should be pretty low because they might not have the energy to climb up to it if they're cold i.e they would need to warm up to get the energy to warm up which would defeat the object.
Hope I helped

Sorted his basking spot now so its lower with a flat rock as the basking piece. Also changed the light to a standard clear one. (the GF picked up a green one by mistake, but we thought it might be fine, evidently wrong)

Still not seen him basking, maybe i'm just having 'baby paranoia' eh?

Well it sounds ok to me. got a pic of the new setup? its probably just because its a baby, does it always hide? mine hid until about 8 inches long. just try taming it down with handfeeding and it might gain confidence.
have you got it eating fruit or veg btw?

I alternate daily between chicken with rocket and squash mashed in and mealies gutloaded on squash. Gonna slowly take the chicken out so its more veg/green than meat. He does handfeed and drinks water from my fingers too. hes pretty tame, just likes to hide. Baby i guess. Are yours all hiding still Jo?
