Default Anyone use a timer??

Hiya

I was just wondering if anyone else uses one of them timers for there lights?
I am having problems getting mine to work,i tried it on my lamp to see if i could get it to do what i wanted it to do and was happy when the light went on but after 20 mins it went back off then came on again about half an hour later then back of after 20 mins.
So anyway i set it for 8am this morning and it came on for my bd at 8.10am then went off at 8.30am Oscar didn't look impressed lol so i have had to just plug the lights in normal.
So i can't seem to get it working putting my lights on at 8am and turn them off for 10pm which would be a help if i could as i wouldn't have to leave places when im out over the holidays to turn lights off.
Anyone got any ideas why it is doing this??
I have made sure the little black things you push down there is only one next to 8am and 1 next to 10pm pushed down,am i doing something wrong?
Sorry for it being long winded
Thanks.

Yes lol! you are doing something wrong You need to push them all down in between 8am and 10pm!! When the tab is up- the light should go off. When the tab is down- the light is on- so all of the tabs need to be down when you want the light on.

I've got timers on my enclosures but I don't know how to set them up so I get a family member to do it for me but there aren't any around at the moment to give me advice to tell you.

You should have read the instructions. Most have the little tabs as mentioned above and are quite straight forward. I got mine from B&Q and you push down the tabs for the lights to go on and pull up the tabs for off. Do this for the time you want then turn the dial to the time it is now and you should have no issues.

Good Luck

I got a digital one and it was annoying so I bought an 'old fashioned' one and it works a lot better.

i have a problem with my timers also. they are the manual ones. are they supposed to work when you plug them into extension leads? and is it possible to plug the timer into the wall and plug an extension lead into it so everything on the extension lead works with the timer?
