Oh how I would love to comment on that last post, but sadly I cant for possible legal reasons as she likes to get legal people involved in matters which are meaningless.

People are right about Godiva being dirty and NRC being expensive but its the feeling of a arrogance from some staff when you ask questions that i dont like but this attitude seems to have slightly carried over to elite reptiles, so i'm definately advising that people check out Rugby Reptiles for a great selection of well priced and healthy reps and for advice off friendly staff who are not too far up there own backsides too offer good simple advice that works well!! no over complications or arrogance. The staff at rugby reptiles are the reason i will use this shop solely from now on. in my eyes they are the best shop in the area and i wish them all the luck in the world!
check them out for yourself www.rugbyreptiles.co.uk

Tad expensive but that doesn't bother me.

The staff are all friendly but don't upset the lady owner. Bit of a dragon lol. I usually speak to Sam and Amy. Both friendly and have good knowledge
Sounds like you have been sticking to their rules, just make sure that you dont correct them on anything or buy from elsewhere and you will be fine

but when they do turn eventually turn you will know what I am talking about

I have now been to NRC, Elite, Rushden and Rugby Reps;

NRC;
Used to get on well with the girls but they got nasty with me and so I stopped going in. They had some great stock and a nice clean shop but they were a tad expensive on some things, reasonable on others such as madagascan ground geckos. the viv set ups were good but on occasions I saw dead chams and rankins decomposing which was a bit of a put off. They always had good selection of crix etc and hides etc at a good price.

Elite;
Matt tolerated me and my OH for a good part of the day and how lovely he is! Love the space in Elite-its nice to be able to walk freely around and not feel too hot/cramped! Nice lizards and snakes with great set ups although I feel they need more snakies more spec. royals there (just for meee!) as Im very much a snake person! frozen food is really good quality and very reasonably priced. Matt and Gary got out every lovely thing in the shop for my OH to have a hold of and were really helpful. feel very comfortable there and have a sneaky suspision its going to turn into our regular rep shop!

Rugby Reps;
The set up they've got for the space they have is great-really good use of space and not too in your face. The set ups have been done with thought and look great-the plants they have in their cham vivs are brill and the exo terras look great! They had some shop royals in rubs which didnt have any hides which I felt needed them, this is my personal opinion when it comes to royals. Although the staff were friendly, I did feel very pressured to buy which wasn't too comfortable. They were kind enough to show me anything I wanted to hold and were helpful with information. They need a sign up outside as it was quite tricky to find!lol!

Rushden;
Nathan is a very helpful chap that makes you feel right at home and is always there for a natter! The stock is varied and is all of good quality and the prices are very reasonable. Its easy to get to, even if you don't know the area and they are always willing to let you hold things without the pressure to buy eg my OH with their albino burm! Whats quite nice also is they regularly have their parrot out in the shop which is fun to play with and the kids love it!

These are all my personal opinions, each shop has good points and bad points and it would be worth everyone going to each.

Yeah, its called satisfaction in knowing that in MY opinion a great shop is getting recognition. i thought the whole post was about personal opinions?? if i see a wanted post and i know that my local rep shop has what they want, then i will inform the person of this. shouldnt we all be doing the same thing? loyalty is important.

i personally wouldn`t buy anything from godiva, or coventry aquatics and reptiles.
the people at elite were very friendly, helpful and not at all pushy to sell, was impressed with that.

It is our choice who we choose to sell the animals in our care to. If we believe it's not in the animal's best interest we would rather keep it than have the money in the till. With regards to importing animals, the majority of ours are UK captive bred (many by our customers). From time to time we get CB American if particular animals are not available in this country. Considering we refuse to deal in wild caught reptiles I feel it's very unfair to say our policy 'aint entirely safe'.

This is not a confrontational response, just wanted to clear those points up

I would also like to thank those who commented on the cleanliness of the shop. Obviously employing staff to maintain these standards and having a captive bred only policy has meant our prices may sometimes be at the higher end, but we believe it's the right way to do things and our animals come first.

All the best

NRC
