I have just purchased a horned toad. It was marked up as a spiny lizard which I knew it clearly wasn't. I am still trying to identify the exact species.
I asked what it was feeding on at the shop as I know that they can be very difficult to ween off ants and was assured that it was eating crickets. As they had had it at least a month I guessed it must have been feeding.
I have had a it since Sunday and it hasn't shown any interest in the crickets and spends most of the time facing the side of the viv with its eyes shut, although it does bury itself at night.
I am hoping that it will come come round once its settled in. I have the tank varying from 35 degrees c at one end down to about 25 at the other.
Any information advice would be greatly appreciated as there doesnt sem to be much about. thanks
i would bump up a basking spot to about 100f or around 37c or so... spray a little water on his back every few days.... you can order ants here..i don't know about there...... i could try to find some caresheets if you want...they may have a few tricks in them...
