Default What's up with my Iggys

Hi, I recently brought a pair of desert iguanas, at first they seem to be doing really well but, over the last couple off week's they have almost stopped eating completely. Iv'e tried a variety off food but can't seem to tempt them. Anyone got any ideas. Im really worried about them

Hi, Ive got them in a 3x2 viv keeping them on sand, they do have a shelter at the cooler end and also a basking rock in there hot end usually keep one end 100-105 and cooler end at 85.
Ive tried them on Kale, courgette, spring greens, cabbage, squash allsorts really.I thought that they might be to cool and starting to hibernate but the shop said that this is fine???

mix of food sounds fine - well its what I feed mine too - have you got a UVB in there and have they gone darker in colour since having them? I find mine go quite grey when they are cold and go a lot whiter after basking and have warmed up - I'm not an expert at all as I have only had mine a month or so just some ideas - Habu knows his stuff on them and there are a few other desert ig owners on here also

yeah they are awesome - so facinating to watch - I feed mine pretty much the sam as yours although the shop I bought them from had them on dampened dried iggy food and I have been slowly changing them over to veg - they seem to prefer it anyway - they love their butternut squash and spring greens best

Both mine are quite dark I haven't really noticed a change in colour since I got them. I'll get the temp up and see if it pep's em up a bit.

Hi, Just playing about with my thermo stat and it's not getting above 100-105 when I alow without the stat it seem's to be getting higher. Does your stat allow it to get quite hot, if so I think I may need another stat. ?

is the stat probe in the cool end? my stat has never kicked on tbh that I have seen- its set to 90 degrees in the cool end and this seems to keep the basking temp around the 120-125 mark with no probs and my viv is the same size as yours
