bosc or tegu

right i'm wanting to get a monitor lizard but i'm stuck between the bosc and tegu. i know the tegu tends to get bigger, so push comes to shuv whats the best for a 1st monitor, and also to fit in to a viv size of approx 6-7ft long?

also can any one recommend a good care sheet as the old google is confusing the hell outa me at the moment

also can those who have similar set ups post some pics as would be nice to see how i need to make mine to

Theres a very good sticky at the top of this page "so you want a sav" read this it covers most of the questions asked also for the record BOSC MONITORS grow to 5ft and so are in fact larger than TEGUS

AH got them wrong, always thought they were bigger tegus i have read that (keep meaning of printing it out) only take stuff in when its on paper (when its alot to read that is)) thanks MM :P

Both awesome animals though so really its down to personal choice , but like i say you only get answers if you ask the questions so nothing wrong with that and best of luck in your choice

well i have one in mind, and now knowing the bosc gets bigger my minds thinking defo the tegu (i do like them just the one i want well expencive and hard to get)

snow tegu...would proberly have to get imported so i best get saving my pennys lol either that or blue

Black and white tegus. Keep babys in work and out of the two i prefer the tegus. Fascinating and lovely things with the appetites simular to boscs. Despite being smaller than boscs they are rumoured to need bigger tanks.

I'd go with a Tegu, but I'm probably biased!
