I have that monitors and tegus by barrons, it's ok isn't it? I have to say it seems a little out of date though, for example it mentions feeding dog and cat food throughout.

The book has been re-vamped but as you say it still has a lot of older husbandry practices in which are now dated

I've heard that young water monitors grow at around 3 inches per month, so best get started on making him/her their own room as apparantly s/he's already 2 foot from nose to tail tip! The previous owner is scared of him/her which is why their getting rid, so they might be exagerating about the size, but will have to wait until I get home tonight to find out. Tim is working on a viv at the moment based on the fact that s/he will be 2 foot in length.

Brilliant monitors , one of my all time favourites and an absolute pleasure to own

[quote=Taxemic;3072430]Bosc looks abit angry! Lol.

so would you be if you'd been left in cardboard box in an abandoned house to die.

it's taken months to get him/her to not hiss, try to bite or tail whip and no doubt many more before i have a semi calm bosc, where i dont have to keep an eye out each time i go in the viv.
