Anyone had crabs?

If I were to go with the kids in the summer and have a scrabble round the beaches, would be the little velvet swimming crabs be ok (once purged for a week in clean water as would be from the Thames).

Live feeding rodents is a no no due to teeth, but pincers of a small crab?

Id keep an eye out for algal blooms and would need a feacal sending to the vets once every 3 months to keep an eye on parasite levels.
