i been reading that a mixture of top soil and sand is the best substrate for bosc monitors our bosc is about 9inches long, we changed his bark over to a sand and soil mix. I was just worried incase he digests it by accident hunting is this ok?

Varanus jobiensis VS Varanus doreanus

Peach Throat Monitor VS Blue Taied Monitor

Which is rarer?
What does each usually cost?
How big does each species achieve?
Both are related to indicus I beleive yes?
Can they live together?
Can they breed together?

Which do you prefer?

Both in the indicus complex blue tails usually larger and more skittish
peachies usually calmer , i wouldent put them in together either , they had some gorgeous jobiensis at hamm as well around the £200 to £250 mark they were on sale for

Awesome buddy, Peachy is definately next on my list of varanids, as well as females of those I already keep. I doubt I can house an Argus at the moment due to the rate they grow but once my roughneck gets his adult viv I'll have a 4x5x2 viv free, perfect for a Peachy.

Best finish paying for this Kimberley first though eh! lol

about half and half pretty much. Playsand from argos and top soil from homebase, just need to flatten it out a bit make it more compact. He seems to like it. About 3inch deep. cheers

What do you guys use for your large water loving lizards water bowls? How do you keep them clean? How do you refill them? Do you use ones they can bathe in? Or do you just offer a container for drinking water?

I was thinking about using this, would it be appropriate for my nile and waters when they get bigger? Also what is the best way to keep clean and maintain hygiene?

Laguna Rectangular Goldfish Tub 106x56x28cm

Please let me know also pics would be cool especially if you have something more elaborate maybe with a drain or filter or something. I was just thinking to buy a pump to pump out the water everyday but I am thinking this wil be very time consuming. Really did not take into consideration this factor when thinking of owning a big lizard. Why I am so curious is my waters and nile loving sleeping bathing and going toilet in their pools and I would hte tot tkae that pleasure away from my babies
