anyone up on their prasinus knowledge?
I have my nest box on the outside of the viv, i was told to do it this way by ray hine as it makes it a lot easier to check inside causing less stress etc to the female.
Thing is, ray did say she would, my female is constantly in there, i havent seen her out since i put it on. As these need a constant of 30 iam worried she is gonna be too cold in there, i mean my rep room isnt cold but not sure if it is 30(will have to check)

Was thinking of putting a heat mat on the outside of the nest box, its made with 15mm contiboard so shouldnt warm up too much in there

What do you think

We must be on the same wave length old pal. As my next will be a Mangrove. I was going to get a pair of Green Sailfins, but stuck deciding between the 2.
Thanks, My girlfriend got him for me as a surprise for my b'day.

between sailfins and a mangrove I would definately go for the monitor.

Anyone have any plans for large vivs or advise on how to build them as if I am going to construct a 6x5x2 I assume I would be best to use a frame of timber rather than just throw some boards together?

Default Building

Hi Retri

I build all my own viv's in stacks or singles.
Currently building a 4 stack. size 4l x 3w x 2.

I use 2 x 2 frame, and put a strength in the middle of every base to stop bowing, and finished off with tongue & groove for added strength.

All quite easy when you start. this will be the 2nd stack of 4 that I have built.
Also building a 10 x 4 x 3(4), for my boscs & tegu in a double stack, this will also be build out of 2 x 2.

Bit of both really. Some grow faster than others. We managed to get ours done at about 7 months.

Question tegu advice needed

hi guys i need a little help
sylar our tegu has got a little snappy !! while iv had him iv only fed him from a bowl and he eats really well now ( he tucking in to lots of fruit and veg now yay)
hes out for a good 10 min in the morning for a check over while i change his water and spot clean then again in the evening for a cuddle and a run about the lounge
hes norm fed 5/6 ish main bowl full and few bugs chucked in in the morning to keep him busy
hes been very sleepy since we have had him in the day and very active in the evenings we thought that was because we didnt have his viv temps high enouth and the temps where only right in the evenings
we have put another spot in and the temps are up but hes still sleeping a lot in the day
in the last couple of weeks hes been very very snappy with my OH and today he charged at the glass at me while i was getting his bowl out to do his dinner
untill now hes been a real cuddle bum and still is once held but i need a little advice how to deal with the snappy/charging thing !!
should i change his meal times ??
not get him out of his viv ??
help im not keen on getting bitten tho im sure it will happen sometime lol
