I had assumed they meant it could be either, plus because you'd have to phone or go into the store to buy then they'd probably clear up. I could ask though lol.

Make sure they send you a pic of the Tegu you are actually purchasing before you part with your cash...and like I said before in the PM find out who's the breeder ...and I still don't know of any in England and suspect they will be captive farmed not captive bred

2 Questions ;

What do you feed your Tegu's. I have a B+W Tegu and I feed Mice, Locust, Pachnoda's, Cockroaches, Mealworms and Crickets.
I tried apple and it show little intrest just a quick lick to investigate it.

Also do you find your Tegu gets more aggressive around Mice/Rats etc , because my one will eat Locust from my hand but will run jump and try and take my fingers with the mice

Post here or pm me.

Default Welcome

Hi Dan-1
Some of the other more experianced Tegu enthusiasts will reply,

But I feed mine on fruit & veg in their viv (grapes well loved) (nothing citrus), mario worms, locusts, Pachnoda's, meats, also eggs, and now going to be give snails.
I feed all live foods out of their own environment, and put the fruit & veg in whilst they are out.
You could be putting yourself a tad at risk by feeding from your hand, as evrytime they see your hand they would associate it with food (IMO), have you seen the teeth on a Tegu.

Default What a Beauty

Hi Siman
That Tegu looks fantastic, hope you get it, & hope it keeps the all white. I was up there a couple of weeks ago, they had 4 x B&W in, 2 had regen tails both at £99.99, and the other two were £129.00, that beauty was not in there or I would have had it myself, .

Good luck

Its taken me ages to catch up with all the posts, its only been a couple of days since ive been on,

Sorry for all the bad news thats gone on, and welcome to a couple of new tegu/monitor faces,

Adam ive had my Tegu about 3 weeks now and he's really tamed down the past week, he doest like being picked up if you put your hand around his body, but he doesnt mind to much if i go up to his face, lift his chin and slide my hand under him and then lift him, its still early days tho, so if i found out anything that i may find helpful to you i'll let you know, and same to me, if theres something yours likes (even food wise) let me know.

I ground up some chicken, chicken liver, carrots and peppers the other day, and he wasnt over keen on it, he has eaten some lettace, im going to try him on just the chicken liver next. its quite cheap at being 40p a tub from tescos, so i hope he does eat it lol
ok thanks Daz, last night i tried to ge ther out but as soon as i lifted her hide she jumped for my fingers, so i decided to leave her be, but ill try her tonight.

I have noticed that she loves mice and crix, but iam trying prawns today would that be ok?

Ah darn, cheers mate. I had hoped that the picture would have been one of the ones for sale. I may have to request some pictures of whats in then as I can't make it down there and require delivery.
