True, she's decided she likes fruit now though, she's eaten snails got some boiled egg for her tomorrow. We think she was fed mainly on rat pups for the majority of her time at the shop well that and snails - She's not interested in live food at all so trying to find things she likes.

Yeah we'll try her every so often, mainly when she settles I think. She seems to prefer to have a "crafty nibble" when we're not around/looking.

Thanks and my Tegu regurgitated ( half digested ) the grapes it got earlier, no idea why. It was acting odd talking up and down the viv and opening its mouth a few times then out of nowhere regurgitated oh did it stink. Could the grapes of been too big because it pooed earlier ok after having them and it had a few more and regurgitated late about 11:30.
I cut the grapes in half and I thought they would be but not so.
Any suggestions and any more food ideas.

What have you been feeding him to make him grow so quickly?

Incidentally, Dan-1 ... grapes have been implicated in a number of pet deaths, causing kidney and other organ failures. I must admit that's one fruit that we do not feed to anything in the house. Reading up on what fruits grow in the same area where tegus are native, I would have thought that papaya, guava, passionfruit, possibly dates (since they do eat palm fruit in the wild) and certainly berry fruits like blueberries would be appropriate.

So I've done more reading up, and its being suggested that a 'feeding bin' is the best way to feed the teg. Now, through where I've been reading (Can't link as its a forum) they say its important to never feed in the viv always feed outside in a feeding tub, as this means you get to handle them twice a day and also means they know feeding is when they get moved into a tub not in the viv.

Now, our little one just potters about eats a little bit quite often throughout the day so would this mean all fruits/veg go inside her viv with her? Or we do the whole meal in the tub and then whatever isn't eaten gets thrown out or gets put in with her?

Also I've always thought it was important for no contact for the first few weeks - would this mean you break that rule for putting her into the feeding tub or you use the feeding tub in a few weeks?
