kieran throws advise away whilst it is tempting to help him for the welfare of his animals i dont see much point these days he doesnt listen

Nope its a water monitor.
We took my brothers male freckled monitor up to his house yesterday and this is his new rep. I'm a bit jelious of him at the moment, this is my dream lizard

Hi need a bit of advice I have george who is a gold tegu and he is wild .I know that they are not as easy to tame as b&w but have been trying but I cannot been able to even catch him but he just goes mad what I want to know is if I keep trying will I stress him out to much and could it cause him any harm as after I try he seems to be breathing really heavy any help would be appreciated thnx

I tend to use the hands off aproach when trying to tame my guys. I'll seat outside the vivarium for a couple of hours a day and let them get used to me being there, then I do the same with the viv open. Eventually they get curious and come to me.

The only time I handle during this time is when I need to change the substrate. Some people like to be more hands on, some less.

My new B+W does the heavy breathing whenever I go in the viv to change the water, and sort of blows herself up trying to make herself look big, so it's probably just a defense mechanism to say 'don't touch me I'm all big and scary'

I was told by pet shop its male .I do sit at the viv with the door opened and talk to him but he never comes near the only time he did he jumped on me then right off and out the viv and it took me two and a half hours to catch him
