oh wow, i never realised it was anywhere near that!
i have a female that was kept with a male for about 1 year and they have been apart for many many months. she got very very fat and i started to get worried she was egg bound or impacted. i booked her in at the vets but before we got there she laid 2 eggs. (this was at least 6 months after them being apart) up to date she has laid 3 clutches (2 eggs per clutch) and is looking fatter again. i didnt think she would have many more!!

when i separated them and she wasnt i was a bit gutted but didnt mind too much. then all of a sudden she laid eggs. they were infertile. the second batch got to moist and got mould on them, i tried to sort it but eventually they had to be thrown away. the third lot she dug out her moss and laid them on the moss that was on the heat mat. by the time i saw them the next afternoon they were all dried out. so this time (if there is a this time) i am gona be prepared and see how we do!
