Post I need of a reptile courier in London

In the coming months I'm going to have a lot of geckos for sale and I'm thinking about usind courier to help me transport them. Any one know of any reputable couriers that cover the London area.

Also i've seen that some people use TNT and wanted to know from anyone who's used them if they're relaible enough to transport a reptile. I'm just trying to look out for the animals interests and don't want them being thrown around in a box in the back of a van.

I have heard good things about the Reptile Taxi although I havent used them myself yet. Contact Ditta on her as she owns it.

I contacted the reptiletaxi. They're basic tariff is 0.15p per mile but because of their distance the cost is higher then I was hoping to pay. Anyone else known to cover the London area?

You need to have an account with TNT to use their service.

Oh really, i'll maybe look in to an account if there's nothing else available. My main concern though was that TNT isn't a specialised reptile courier and that they might not take the care with the animals that a specialist would.

You wont find any courier that will open a new account for you to transport reptile, esp now with the new laws.

Your only option is either use a service like reptile taxi, specialist sameday service, and at that price you quoited thats a great rate !

or try to find someone with an existing account with the likes of tnt and third party it. I know there was someone on the forum offering this, but cant remember who.

Alternativly, like me, you have to rely on people coming to you, attending shows, or transporting them yourself. But remember, if you do it yourself, or in fact if anyone does it and you charge a fee to the customer, then you need a transport licence from state vet.

I tried TNT and unless you have a VAT number and a registered business you aint having an account, thats what i found out.

As for the Reptile Taxi, I get quotes for people wanting my beardies but have not used them as yet cos people don't want to pay much for couriering.

But personally, Ive heard stories about the way TNT handle livestock and i would rather use the Reptile Taxi as there be more specialized in transporting Reptiles.

The reptile couriers got great rates bit they're nearly 200 miles from me which makes them about £60 minimum just to get to mine and back and thats before they deviate to do a drop off.
