Default Small cute lizard easy to look after - suggestions please!!

Hi I want to get my mother a small lizard! That only requires a small viv. The reasoning is I have kept lizards for years and years and my mother hated them but now she has grown fond of them!

I took her shopping a while ago and she saw an anole and she thought it was cute and she wanted one!

But I think they are a bit skitty for her! She dont have alot of room so I was thinking of a small exo terra!

What lizards do you suggest??

I thought maybe a crestie, day gecko!

I dont know really, I dont want to get her leo's as I have several, I want her tio have something different!

Do you want one she can handle?
Cresties and most day geckos would not be suitable for a small exo (I guess you're talking about the 12" cube?).

If you could upgrade to the 18x18x24 exo, then a crestie (or 2) would be very happy in there.

Day geckos are more of an ornamental species - they don't tame well and their delicate skins and tails may get damaged during handling so if she wants something she can handle I would definately go with a crestie - a ready-tamed adult would be an ideal introduction as they are a comfortable size to sit in your hand and usually fairly calm. They are also extremely cute with their little 'eyelashes'!

Personally, I always provided my cresties with at least 24" of height because they would use it all. I've seen people using the 18" cubes with cresties, it's just my personal preference.

All day geckos have very delicate skin and are more a 'look but don't touch' animal. However, that isn't to say that they won't take some fruit/a cricket from your hand with time.

There are plenty of other species that you could keep in the exos. Just do a little reading on some gecko specific forums (such as geckosunlimited) and find one which suits what you're looking for. Bare in mind though, that most small species are delicate and shouldn't really be handled.....
