Do you want one she can handle?
Cresties and most day geckos would not be suitable for a small exo (I guess you're talking about the 12" cube?).

Day geckos are more of an ornamental species - they don't tame well and their delicate skins and tails may get damaged during handling so if she wants something she can handle I would definately go with a crestie - a ready-tamed adult would be an ideal introduction as they are a comfortable size to sit in your hand and usually fairly calm. They are also extremely cute with their little 'eyelashes'!

All day geckos have very delicate skin and are more a 'look but don't touch' animal. However, that isn't to say that they won't take some fruit/a cricket from your hand with time. There are plenty of other species that you could keep in the exos. Just do a little reading on some gecko specific forums (such as geckosunlimited) and find one which suits what you're looking for. Bare in mind though, that most small species are delicate and shouldn't really be handled.....
