Default Chameleon Enclosure

Hi all,
My Cham is currently in a 3x2x2, and i will be upgrading to one of the larger exo-terra felxariums in a few months time, and was wandering, how well do they keep in heat? as i feel that the bulb would be on 24/7 as there would be too much ventilation so no heat would be kept in, same thing with humidity.
Cheers in advance, John

i keep all my chams in flexis and have no problems keeping them up to the right temps.
at night what i do is cover the front with a light weight breathable cloth like muslim this keeps in some heat and keeps out drafts.
dont worry too much about chams and heat at night time as they can tolerate quite low temps as long as your house doesnt fall below 60f (unless you live in a shed lol) the cham will be ok

as for humidity, regular misting and the use of a dripper and also live plants help with keeping humidity at the correct level.hope this helps

Get this 24 x 24 x 48 inch Aluminum Screen Cage instead of a flexi, cost you about £70 incl delivery from America. Flexis are horrid, IMO of course .

No problem keeping temps and humidity. I put a 100 watt spot bulb about 12 inches from a vine underneath it and it always stays at around 90 degrees. Humidity is really easy with live plants, veiled chams only need around 50% humidity and this is the normal room humidity anyway.

You can't get it for anywhere near this price inc P&P, the delivery is almost as much as the viv - I got an email yesterday!

Mine cost £100 including delivery!

However the exchange rate was better compared with today's.

I got a quote last night on one of the ones from amreica and it will cost £96.2239494 with shipping.
The flexi will cost £66.99 and then you have to add postage. I think the aluminum one is better value for money when you consider how flimsey the flexi is and is it really safe from preditors?????

I got a quote for £70 postage from america.

In the end i have gone with Terry Thatcher who is making me a custom size one for not much more money than i would have paid having it shipped from the US

build your own at least it will look like a nice piece of furniture and will blend in with what ever you have in your room.
