Default When is it classed as cruel?

As i have mentioned in a previous post i have a yemen chameleon who was ill and was eating wax worms, now we are trying to get him off these and so we havent been giving them him but we havent seen him eat the crickets, but i have noticed that one of the number 4 crickets has gone missing so i suspect he has eaten one but obviously just eating one cricket isnt enough for him a day so after how many days should i put a wx worm in. He hasnt had one for 3 days now but not noticed a decline in crickets

Try locus instead...my yemen wont eat crickets cos they all go to bottom of viv. The locus climb all over giving better stimulaton and are easier to catch. Wax worms should be treat only as they are high in fat and can cause liver problems x

I dont think he will not eat to the point where he's starving himself, once he's hungry enough, he should eat!
Personally I would just not give wax worms at all, this will just prolong the process!

Yeah i know they are only treats but it was that bad he was having to be force fed hence why he was on wax worms but now he is recovering we are trying to move him off them. Tried locusts dunno if it was too big or what but he moved away from it, think it freaked him out.

Awww poor little guy. Hope he recovers soon. Just try leaving a few small locus in with him and check how many (if any") he has eaten in few hours. If i am watching my cham he wont eat either, so just have to leave him to it. x

What ive found, (well with leopard geckos at least), is that if they arnt eating and the crickets are left in the tank they never really develop an interest in them. They almost treat them as a peice of the furniture. I find its best to offer them the crickets, then if they dont eat them then remove them and offer them again tomoro. With them only being offered food at certain periods it gives them a sence of urgency and they eat with a lot more vigour.

You should buy yourself a few maggots and pupate them into flies. Chams usually go wild for anything that flies

Yeah George is like that he is really shy and has been ever since we have had him, he hates being handled and watched if we let him he would hide all day. Would Fruit Flies be too small for him he is about 8 months old. But we have noticed he is really down in the dumps and doesnt want to do much could this be a reason also?

Yes, fruit flies would be too small for him.
Like I said, hatch yourself out some blue bottles and see if he takes those.
