I can't get into this as I don't want a backlash (and don't have a Tegu) but I know of a very and happy one that lives in a viv almost that size (6 inches higher).

if it was a small female then possibly but usually an 8' footer is more the norm for an adult.

There are factors, some are lazier than others. Some people have more time to spend and exercise them (I know someone who uses a cat flap in the viv which is unlocked for much of the day to allow for exercise if the lizard wants to use it), some are greedy and will sleep all day, whilst others are active, some are excessively large, whilst I have seen some quite small/slender females..... there is no guarantee when you buy a baby which of the above categories it could fall into so it might be adequate, or it might not, but if you were buying an adult of which you knew the full size and temperement you would have a better guarantee.

as said depends on the size the tegu gets and out of viv time the tegu is going to have, mine is in a 5x3x2 but she is only little at the moment, my man is a joiner so i have no probs with him extending her viv as she needs it,her viv only takes up a quarter of my livingroom at the minute so a bit more won`t hurt lol

I have a 5ft ish male and 4ft ish female in separate 6x6x3 vivs which I'd like to be bigger. I think bigger depending on how often it will be out for exercise
