Default Introducing : Dora

Hi all, just wanted to show you Dora, my 1st (hopefully of many) Leopard gecko. Am unsure what morph she is but as she was shop bought, I'm assuming she's just a normal. Got her from Aquatic Fanatic in Ashton Under Lyne. Already she's proving to be VERY inquisitive. Am also posting pics of my viv (actually a tank).... any advice welcome.

Say hi Dora

Also, heres her viv, its a 30x12x18 tank.

That substrate looks not to right. It is best to get lino. But if you really want sand, switch to fine grain play sand. That stuff has to large of grains, highers the risk of impaction...
And yeah, thats a lovely highyellow you have.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but i cant see any floor heating, like a heat mat or something for her to lay on to help disgest food.

She is pretty though, mines just started to bite me which im not impressed with lol.

EDIT: Unless that lamp is heating the hide, which she then lays on....I dont like after thoughts coz it means I have to edit lol.

Thanks guys, I'll remove the sand and put in some lino. I want a natural effect so i'll go for some stone effect stuff.

Joe1507 - the cucumber was there for the crickets, i'd been advised to put some in for the first few days, then while the crickets are feeding Dora can pounce.

Elmod - there is a heatmat, its at the left side, under the glass. if you look you can see i had to raise the tank using some coins to give it some airspace (the pack had the feet missing)

The bulb over the hide is only going to heat the hide and the air inside it, you'll probably find she wont want to be in there as it will be too hot.
Bare in mind leos need heat from underneath in order to digest their food properly. Bulbs can be used but you might have to make sure the bulb can heat the substrate not just the hide.
As said the sand but you've said your changing that.
Other than that lovely leo well done
