yeah he is quite chunky, he ate some organic baby food off of my finger about 10 mins ago

He looks amazing for a cheap buy!!

One question, not to criticise, that bark stuff looks really wet, and nothing like my ecoearth, which is quite dry.
How does he get on with the bark?

he seems not too fussed about it, the place i got him from had him on bark since he was born

i've seen these photos before, and i now keep all leo's and will keep my cresties on lino, it's free, easy to clean, comes in some great designs and safe.

Ecoearth (personally i prefer regular potting soil) is an ok substrate once they reach around 3" SVL or more, i do not like keeping very young geckos on it as i have witnessed them getting it in their mouths and i am not confident that they could easily pass a lump of it. Adult geckos should be able to pass if through if they ate it, but of course there's always a risk.

Personally, any new gecko that arrives in my home is kept on kitchen roll for at least 2months or more to ensure it has no health issues and i can track its bowel movements easily.
