If you're prepared to pay up front, spend £80 or so and buy enough roaches for a colony, then it's free (apart from say a quid a week in veg).

Otherwise about £12 per WEEK when young, going down a bit when they're fully grown and eat less often.

it depends on a lot of things

how old the beardie is
what you feed it
how much your local charges for live food
how much youde spend on veg
etc
etc

I pay roughly £10 per week per beardie for food

I grow a lot of my own veg for them so maybe your school would consider doing that to reduce costs?

I havent got a beardie, but one of my friends cost about £15.00 per week, she dont buy in bulk she buys prepacked crickets and locust from the pet shop.. presume its more costly that way being about £3.00 per tub.. depending on what size crickets and locust you get, bigge rthey are the less in the tub apprently...

hmm I'd say you'll have trouble breeding locusts in enough quantities. If you want to try and breed your livefood I'd say go with cockroaches as they multiply quite fast if you start with a good colony, dubia roaches maybe?

That or feed crickets and sometimes locusts? It's just a diet of only locusts as the livefood will probably work out to be the most expensive route. Although keep in mind the costs will go down a bit when your bearded dragon reaches adulthood as they will generally have a more veggie diet with the livefood as supplements on the side. Maybe then you could buy one of those bulk bags of 50 adult locusts, I haven't kept beardies but i doubt an adult would need to eat more then two of those big things a day if it's got some nice veg.
