Default making a background help

iv made a background for my beardie viv im going to put sand on it but using pva glue but do i varnish it before i put the pva/sand mix on it of after it

so far its had for layers of grout and 1 layer of paint

Hi,

pva then throw the sand on varnish goes on last.

although tbo i dont use varnish at all,the only problem with not varnishing is that if they do there biz on there it stains and after a while it needs a good clean.

the varnish just makes it that bit easier to wipe clean.

Instead of using pva and sand, why not use tilers grout? much easier.

Plus you can mix different colour sands for texture and colour, exo terra desert yellow or red is nice.

use tile grout, THEN pva and throw sand on... do this twice to make sure its covered, then do a final layer of PVA, seals it, waterproofs it, easy to wipe down, still looks just as good!

its already got 4 layers of grout on it
