hi all ,
will be going to have a look at a breeding pair of beardies tonight , both 2 years old , with full setup, i know that they eat mostly veggies , but my question is if i do let them breed and say have a clutch of 20 , how much would a clutch of 20 babies cost a week to keep as ive read that the youngsters eat a lot more live food than veggies than the adult's do , just to give me an idea . many thanks dave |

depends how many babies you have - but yeah they require more live foods as they need protein for growing - you are best buying in bulk if you have alot of babies and the crix need to be small, but babies need feeding atleast once daily. difficult to say how much it would cost coz you will also need alot of equipment and at the mo alot of ppl aren't buying reps due to the economic down fall so you may be keeping babies for a long time.
Food wise i would guess between £5 and £10 a week if you get a good deal on your live food.

i dont know about cost, but i'd like to mention the fact that most female beardies tend to have a second clutch with just as many, so you could end up housing and feeding nearly 40 babies.
