Just a tip in case I was wrong... but try typing "black bearding" into the search area and see what others have said, I haven't experienced much black bearding with my beardie, but I remember something about stress, but like I said don't take my word for it.

Black bearding is just the common term given to it. It happens predominantly in males, stress arousal and aggression can be triggers. Also the intenisity can give an idea of levels.
Fitst time my beardie saw my iggy for instance he went really black.

Some will be more prone to stress than others generally nothing to worry about but if your beardie is blacking up and puffing itself out all the time may have deeper issues.

Thanks for all replies, male had seen the 2 new females, (from accross the room) for the 1st time. Hopefully he was just showing who was the boss, seems ok now but will keep an eye on him.
